14 Bible Verses on the Love of Christ for Valentine's Day

Just in time for Valentine's Day I wanted to share 14 bible verses to help you focus on the love of Christ. I know typically when we talk about Valentine's Day, we discuss relationship love. 

Don't feel like reading, watch the video. 

But instead of focusing on relationships I wanted to focus on the love of Christ. The constant never changing love of Christ Jesus. There is no greater love than the love of Christ. 

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 ESV

If you have ever read any book in the Old Testament, you begin to recognize the significance of Christ. The Old Testament will help you have more gratitude for Christ. 

You should praise him for freeing is from being governed by the law. You now are governed by grace because of the crucifixion of Christ.

Reading from the Old Testament and New Testament helps you appreciate the gift of salvation we were granted through Jesus Christ. God's love and Christ's love is exemplified by his sacrifice.

Take a moment to meditate on this, Christ was free of sin. But Christ was willing to pay the ultimate price of death on the cross for our sins. 

Christ Jesus died so that we may one day experience eternal life and return to our Lord Elohim. The death of Christ says a lot about the love he has for each one of us.

Christ Jesus death also speaks to the love God has for each one of us. God gave his only son so that we may have a chance at eternal life.

How much God must love us to sacrifice his perfect child. If you are a parent, think about if you would be willing to sacrifice your child for others.

I don't know about you. But my answer as a parent of two kids. Would surely be no. There is just no one on this earth that I would be willing to sacrifice my child for.

How to Plan Your Best Year Ever

When I wrote this post in 2017, I was in a different place. I am amazed to just re-read and see my personal and spiritual growth. This 2022 when you are planning your next year be sure that God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are at the forefront of your plans.

2021 was filled with so many changes and battles. But what stands out the most is at the highest and lowest I always felt like God was with me. Whether it was a minor day-to-day nuisance or a major life change I knew he was right there holding my hand through it all. 

I want to just encourage you to walk into 2022 with that same understanding. Call out to God. Welcome Him into your day. Leverage the gift of the Holy Spirit. When you fall short remember that Jesus already paid the price for your sins. 

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 ESV
 

At the end of 2016, I wrote down the goals I wanted to achieve for 2017. Writing down your goals is imperative for holding yourself accountable for achieving your goals. Setting checkpoints to review your goals is essential to staying on track.

I reviewed my goals bi-monthly and I thought it would be fun to do an end-of-year goal review. Before I share my goals and progress, I wanted to share the tips that I feel helped me achieve my goals.

Planning

Goal setting is would absolutely nothing without a plan. Great you have a goal but how do you plan to get it done. How are you going to get from $1,000 a month to $2,000 a month, 180 pounds to 160 pounds, receptionist to account specialist? My point is going from a to b doesn't happen simply because you wrote it down on a piece of paper. You have to sit down and brainstorm the actions you need to take in order to create your desired change.

Creating Systems

As crazy as it sounds, creating systems has been imperative to my productivity and success this year. Although creating systems can be time-consuming because it does take trial and error to find what works best for you.

For example, if you have a weight loss goal of 40 lbs. this year understanding your habits and trying different things can make or break your weight loss journey. If you're an early riser on the weekend it would be best to try a 3-day workout plan (i.e., Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday). If you know your office usually has treats that you love or lunch delivered on Friday it's likely best to make Friday a cheat day. 

My point is the best way to create a win-win system is to take note of your environment, know when you are at your best, and plan for some fun. For example, I would love to sit down and write 5 blog posts in one day but that is just not realistic for me so every month I plan for a 3-4 days blog batch session. I always plan it for the middle of the month because I know the beginning and end of the month are hectic times for me.

Adapting/Changing Course 

Every good planner has a backup plan. Well, I think, every good planner knows how to adapt and readjust their course when necessary. Sometimes you'll find during your plan that it just won't work for your goal. Most of the time it's because of things that are out of our control or knowledge we didn't have when we created the plan. 

But the thing about planning is when you have good habits and you're adaptable, you can still make your goals happen. For example, one of my goals this year was to grow my blog traffic. I did a lot of research, tried a lot of different tactics, but didn't see a lot of results. But I kept going at it anyway even though I wasn't seeing any change. This actually takes me to my next point.

Putting Myself Out There

I did not see any changes in my blog traffic until I stepped outside of my comfort zone. I put myself out there and began attending blogger meetups. These meetups gave me the opportunity to gain a lot of information in a small amount of time from different people all working within my field. For the record, my blog traffic doubled after this meetup and tripled the following month. All because I stepped outside of my comfort zone.

By taking the time to meet new people and being open to learning from others. I was able to adapt my plan and meet my blog traffic goal. Although there is a lot of information available online, in books, and from experts. Most people prefer to receive information from someone they know or trust.

Chellbee End of the Year Review

• Improve my relationship with God. This is a continuous journey but I've grown a lot this year. I am looking forward to the journey ahead. 
• Prioritize spending time with my family. Naturally, I'm a hermit so we started doing Sunday Dinners. We eat, laugh, talk, and play spades together. Sunday dinners have become something I always look forward to and think about throughout my week.
• Publish my first book. The funny thing is I had not planned to release the Faith Journal. The truth is I was writing a completely different book but God had other plans. A month before the release I dropped one idea for His will and it has been a blessing. 
• Grow my blog and brand. This has been an up-and-down battle. But I reach several of my longtime goals, readjusted my focus, and am thankful for the opportunities that have been afforded to me this year. More than anything else I'm thankful for every comment, like, tweet, and email from each one of you.

5 ways to Memorize Bible Verses

Since becoming a new mom my bible study routine has fallen apart, to say the least.  So I'm trying to find new ways to strengthen my spiritual relationship.

One of my spiritual goals is to have a pure heart. I was inspired by my reading of Matthew 5:8 ESV says “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God."

Of course, after reading Matthews as a new Christian I began to search the bible. I had to know how I could make my heart pure.

How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word. With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments! I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. - Psalm 119:9-11 ESV

Memorizing scriptures is a great way to keep the Lord's word close to your heart. Living according to the word is easier to do when you remember the word.

Create a goal. Be realistic of course. There is nothing worse than setting an unreachable goal to only give up halfway through.

I personally have a few different methods I use to memorize scripture.

 

If you are like me and still need a daily reminder that you can carry with you. Then order your Who God says I am scripture card set, 24 cards set with affirmation, scriptures, and prayers.

5 ways to Memorize Bible Verses

1. Write it out. The Standards Method
2. Pray it.
3. Read it.
4. Use the verse to create a phone or desktop wallpaper.
5. Chose short verses, to begin with.

Write it

I write the verse on a chalkboard in my office. That way every day I go to work I recite it.

I also will write the verse in my faith journal. I have a section where I write the verse I want to memorize. Something about writing it down helps me to remember.


After COVID hit I made psalm my memory verse.  

Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place— the Most High, who is my refuge— no evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your tent. Psalm 91: 9-10

Pray it

I have covered our home in prayer repeatedly reciting that verse while my husband went out every day during the pandemic working to provide for our family as an essential employee.

Use the verse you are trying to remember as a prayer. Recite it.

Read it

I also started putting my scripture cards on my desk. I also keep an encouraging verse on my stand. During those difficult moments during the workday or just those quiet moments.

I read that scripture to myself.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11

I don’t think there is one sure-to-work method when it comes to memorizing scripture you have to try different things to figure out what works for you.

When I first started trying to memorize scripture I would write it on my hand. But my husband was concerned it isn’t good for you.

If you look down my timeline on Instagram you’ll notice I had verses written on my hand.

Do you ever feel like every step you take in the right direction something pulls you back? After a while, it's just tiring. You start to feel like man maybe I should just give up.

It makes you start to question your God-given purpose. Maybe this isn't what God has for me after all. I once heard someone say that Satan loves to attack you because He knows the calling God has on your life.

When I heard it, it moved me. But currently, as I sit here looking to return to work full time. And feeling like all the odds are stacked against me. That saying ain't doing much for me.

I'm like God where are you. Are you even here with me? Because just like you during hard times I often feel alone. What is it about trials and tribulations?

Because he's after you too. Because if you're reading this then God has a calling on your life just as he has a calling on mine.

You may not be called to create an online ministry. But God may be calling you to minister over the life of your significant other, children, brother, sister, or coworkers.

I know you were created to be a light in this dark world. Don't let this trial cause you to forget you are more than a conqueror.

Marriage is a life long commitment. Filled with highs and lows. Staying happily married is hard work.

No marriage can go on without problems or conflict. Unless both spouses choose to silence there own voice in order to avoid conflict.

When you put two people under one roof, there will always be some kind of conflict. It may not be a fight but there is going to be disagreements - that's natural.

Let alone when those two people decide to procreate. Having children can make it difficult to maintain a relationship with your spouse. Not to mention the addition of maintaining a household and working.

I personally believe our life priorities should be God, marriage, children, and then everything else. But, how do you execute that on a daily basis?

Well ultimately it is up to you. When it comes to your marriage being intentional is important to maintaining your connection.

6 Simple Ways to be Intentional in Marriage

1. Finding ways to spend quality time together.
2. Talking with one another.
3. Collaborating with one another on the finances, parenting, and household decisions.
4. Compromising to solve issues that arise. 
5. Loving on one another - even when your upset.
6. Finding hobbies to do together.
7. Fight fair. Don't raise your voice or belittle one another.

It all boils down to this simple question. How can we keep the spark going? Keep that question at the forefront of your mind and acting accordingly.

Remember that spark you felt when you first met. Remind yourself of those early on relationship experiences that make you smile.

No matter what you go through as a couple. Chemistry doesn't dissolve. It may fizzle out. But its always there. It just needs a little spark to be reignited.

Don't allow a temporary situation cause you to forget the reason you said I do.

Recently my Mom asked me a question that caught me off guard. Who is God to you?

I was stomped. As much as I read the Bible, reflect on what I've read, and share my spiritual journey. I didn't have an answer.

Quite honestly, I partly didn't understand the question. So I asked her, what do you mean?

She said, who is God to you? I replied, huh. She said I'll give you a hint, read John 1:1-2. I told her I had already read it.

She told me to read it again. So I read it again. But the answer seemed too simple.

God is the word.

I thought that was too easy to be the answer. So I read it again and again. Not learning anything new from rereading the bible verse. I decided to read it in different translations.

I read about 5 different versions of the same passage using my Bible app. When I got to the Voice translation, I found something that stopped me in my steps.

The Greek word Logos is often translated in English to word.

Logos, (Greek: “word,” “reason,” or “plan”) plural logoi, in Greek philosophy and theology, the divine reason implicit in the cosmos, ordering it and giving it form and meaning.

This one Greek word transformed the way I answered my Mom's simple question. My answer evolved in a way I honestly had not imagined.

Who is God to you?

• God is the living word.
• Christ in the flesh (human) version of the word.
• The Holy Spirit is the guide Christ left with us before ascending back to heaven.
• God word is the truth.
• Jesus was with God when he created the word.
• Jesus was sent to speak to the world by God.
• Us being able to hear Jesus changed everything.
• As a result of Jesus, we are now able to hear and speak directly to God.
• Christ, God, and the Holy Spirit are one

My mother's question forced me to think deeply.

Looking at different translations helped me to better understand several principles I have read over the years during my bible study. One Greek word helped me to understand a fundamental bible lesson.

7 Ways to Dig Deeper during Bible Study

1. Read it twice.
2. Read it in at least one other translations .
3. Research the place where it happen.
4. Research the word definition in it's original language (Greek). Chose words that are unfamiliar or powerful - the word could change the meaning of the passage.
5. Ask questions.
6. Write your thoughts down.
7. Have a conversation with someone you trust. Read the passage together and discuss your thoughts.

I try not to bore you with my blogging struggles. If you're not a blogger then you may not understand. But the blogging atmosphere is filled with the chatter of 6 figure income and hundred-dollar courses that will help you get there.

The amount of information about blogging can be overwhelming. Eventually, you don't want to read another blogging post. Because you don't know if it's genuine or just another sales pitch.

When I quit my job I thought making a full-time income blogging would be a no-brainer. Build it and they will come.

Pray about it and God will fix it. Right? Well, that wasn't the case.

I even tried giving God an ultimatum. Because quite honestly I was tired of reading other people's success stories. Because I wanted to be a success story.

I was ready to quit.

But after a pep talk from my husband I was reminded of why I started this in the first place. I just wanted an outlet. I wanted to have a voice.

After several come to Jesus moment. I began to authentically share my spiritual journey. And I finally felt like my blog was being received.

People were enjoying what I had to say. And I was actually helping women in their spiritual journey.

It was the confirmation I had been asking God for. But I still wasn't making money. It made me realize that I equated success to making money.

I realized I needed to make a change. If I was going to see my blog truly thrive I needed to refocus on God.

I heard a sermon that said sometimes failure is just a test. It's a test to see if you will keep going after the purpose you believe God placed on your heart.

I decided that I needed to commit to my blog because it's my purpose. But most of all, I needed to acknowledge God for all he was already doing for me. I began to pray, asking God to show me the way.

Micah 6:16 ESV says, You shall eat, but not be satisfied, and there shall be hunger within you; you shall put away, but not preserve, and what you preserve I will give to the sword.

I realized my hunger was misdirected. I was looking for worldly validation, chasing money.

Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” - Hebrews 13:5

When I needed to be chasing God's word. Don't be distracted by the world. Get lost in the word. Seek out the scripture and pray.

There is power in the word. I know reading the Bible can be daunting and a bit scary. But it doesn't have to be. Especially if you can find a bible study and note-taking technique that works for you.

Today I'm sharing my note-taking and highlighting method for reading the bible. The further along I get in my Bible study the more I've recognized the need for a bible color-coding system. It makes all the difference when your re-reading or reviewing text you've previously read.

A bible color-coding system makes it quick and easy to find passages on particular topics. As you know the bible isn't categorized like a textbook. Implementing a system is helpful when you are in need of inspiration, encouragement, or just a word from the Bible.

Like Proverbs for example has a lot of wisdom but this system makes it easy for me to find scriptures on parenting in Proverbs. Although bible verses on parenting may not be important to you. Deciding which categories are important to you will help make bible note-taking easier.

How to Color Code Your Bible
For almost two years I've used my faith journal for my bible note-taking. Along with bible mapping and bible journaling. But now I feel as though it is time for me to expand my bible note taking to include a bible color-coding system. Easily finding bible verses on prayer, Holy Spirit, marriage is important to my spiritual journey.

Creating a table of content on an index card is a great way to keep up with your bible color-coding system. You may find it helpful to also use tabs, washi tape, or sticky notes to mark pages where you've highlighted important text.

I use a highlighter set from Amazon Basic to color code my bible. I do like their highlighters but they were not created for highlighting your bible. If you are new to color coding your bible I would definitely recommend purchasing bible highlighters. 

They are supposed to not bleed through the thin Bible pages. Daily Grace Co has a really cute bible highlighter set that has cute inscriptions on it. If you are an Amazon Prime member like me then you may want to check out these bible highlighters which I recently added to my Amazon cart. So I will have to let you know how it goes.

There are a lot of different methods but try to keep it simple - if possible use supplies you have on hand. You don't have to match my system or anyone else.

It's a new year! Can you believe it. Is it just me or did 2018 fly by. If it went by slowing for you then your probably trying forget it.

Although 2018 did not disappoint. I have to admit it didn't fully live up to my expectation. We're still here so cheers to another opportunity to make stuff happen.

I am so excited to continue to share my Morning Coffee ☕ with Chellbee series today I'm sharing Affirmation to Trust God Affirmation! You don't know this but it took me almost a year to begin recording the Morning Coffee with Chellbee series. The concept literally sat in my notebook for a year, because I was scared that you wouldn't enjoy it.

One day when I was researching content for my YouTube channel. I picked up my notebook and said what the heck I may as well give it a try. Six months later and this is one of my most popular blog post. 

How absolutely crazy is that. 

When I recorded my first faith video I sent it to friends and family for feedback. They told me I looked uncomfortable. They told me to find something else to talk about. A few even asked if I was going to be a minister now.

Originally I thought there was nothing more frightening than sitting in front of a camera talking about Christ. But I think I more scared that those close to me wouldn't understand me.

Even when no one else gets you. You have to trust God. Trust God and the direction he leading you in.

Don't apologize for following the purpose God has filled you with. Most of all you don't owe anyone an explanation on your God given purpose.

The truth is your purpose isn't for everyone. God will provide you with all you need if you trust Him and allow Him to move in your life.

God willing these scriptures and affirmations will encourage you to Trust God and find your place in His kingdom. Let's chase Christ together!

Trust God Affirmation

I will trust you Lord. I surrender my burdens to you I believe that your will, will be done I pray you grant me peace and discernment to accept the things that are out of my control. I have faith that no matter who comes against me you will turn it around for my good. I trust the plan you have over my life and know it is better than my own. I pray that you continue to be with me and guide me as I move through this beautiful world you created.

I challenge you today to list 8-10 things - be specific - you are grateful to God for. He knows that you struggle to trust Him. So list those things that you are so grateful that you turn it over to God. Because you know you couldn't have done it by yourself.
