12 Promises of God for 2022

January 20, 2022
12 Promises of God for 2022

It has been way too long since I put pen to paper or thumbs to my cell phone screen. Between the Etsy shop, YouTube, and life I have not had much time to write.

Which is unfortunate since writing is my passion. It’s actually the second driving force behind my stationery shop.

For a long time in 2021 I had not written anything out of fear. I was afraid my writing was insufficient. Fearful of my grammar and spelling errors being seen all over the World Wide Web. Fear that I didn’t have anything new to say or offer.

But I'm back. Satan knows how to play on our insecurities. Man does he know how to play me like a fiddle.

God placed it in the spirit to explore his promises this year. I searched the internet and was overwhelmed by what I found. There are so many promises of God, I decided to pair it down to 12.

I thought it would be great if we could dive into 1 of the promises each month in our email tribe for January 2022. If you haven’t subscribed, join the tribe if you're interested in weekly faith-based encouragement and Chellbee Shop sales.

A lot of my good friends are members of the email tribe and I have made some great new friends through our email tribe as well. We are 1500+. I purged the list so if you stopped getting weekly emails your email was likely removed.

In 2022, one of my spiritual goals is to deepen my relationship with the Trinity Holy Spirit, Jesus, and God. The more I read the more I realize how important it is to differentiate between the 3.

12 Promises of God for 2022

  1. The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent. Exodus 14:14
  2. Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10
  3. I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world. John 16:33
  4. The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in his way; though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong, for the Lord upholds his hand. Psalm 37:23-24
  5. Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Matthew 11:28-29
  6. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
  7. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. James 1:5
  8. No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13
  9. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9
  10. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. John 3:36
  11. For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Matthew 6:14-15
  12. And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” Acts 16:31

5 ways to Memorize Bible Verses

Since becoming a new mom my bible study routine has fallen apart, to say the least.  So I'm trying to find new ways to strengthen my spiritual relationship.

One of my spiritual goals is to have a pure heart. I was inspired by my reading of Matthew 5:8 ESV says “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God."

Watch the 5 ways to Memorize Verse Full Video now! Of course, if you enjoy this video and are not currently subscribed, I would love for you to subscribe to my channel.

Of course, after reading Matthews as a new Christian I began to search the bible. I had to know how I could make my heart pure.
How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word. With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments! I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. - Psalm 119:9-11 ESV
Memorizing scriptures is a great way to keep the Lord's word close to your heart. Living according to the word is easier to do when you remember the word.

Create a goal. Be realistic of course. There is nothing worse than setting an unreachable goal to only give up halfway through.

I personally have a few different methods I use to memorize scripture.

If you are like me and still need a daily reminder that you can carry with you. Then order your Who God says I am scripture card set, 24 cards set with affirmation, scriptures, and prayers.

5 ways to Memorize Bible Verses

  1. Write it out. The Standards Method
  2. Pray it.
  3. Read it.
  4. Use the verse to create a phone or desktop wallpaper.
  5. Chose short verses, to begin with.

Write it

I write the verse on a chalkboard in my office. That way every day I go to work I recite it.

I also will write the verse in my faith journal. I have a section where I write the verse I want to memorize. Something about writing it down helps me to remember.

After COVID hit I made psalm my memory verse.
Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place— the Most High, who is my refuge— no evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your tent. Psalm 91: 9-10

Pray it

I have covered our home in prayer repeatedly reciting that verse while my husband went out every day during the pandemic working to provide for our family as an essential employee.

Use the verse you are trying to remember as a prayer. Recite it.

Read it

I also started putting my scripture cards on my desk. I also keep an encouraging verse on my stand. During those difficult moments during the workday or just those quiet moments.

I read that scripture to myself.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11

I don’t think there is one sure-to-work method when it comes to memorizing scripture you have to try different things to figure out what works for you.

When I first started trying to memorize scripture I would write it on my hand. But my husband was concerned it isn’t good for you.

If you look down my timeline on Instagram you’ll notice I had verses written on my hand.

Bonus tip I've found an effective way to memorizing scriptures is by creating phone wallpaper. This method is how I memorized Luke 1:27. If you want to that wallpaper for yourself download my Faith Kit now!

As a thank you for reading this blog post I've created 15 Bible Verse Phone Wallpapers so be sure to download yours now!

10 things that God say I am

April 07, 2021
21 days of verses to remind you who you are. affirmations | encouragement verses scriptures | faith verses scriptures encouragement | #bible #bibleverse #encouragement #redeemed #blessed #strong #beloved

All so often on this blog I create resources on this blog to help me in my own spiritual journey. Every time you all respond or visit these post often I am so surprised.

This post is just a simple reminder of who God says you are. Though this post was originally published in April 25, 2019 it is one of my most popular blog post. I'm thrilled to have confirmation that I am not the only one who needs the reminder.

During this COVID-19 pandemic I found myself needing these reminder even more. There were so many unknown when the crisis began and I still think there is a lot of information we will not know for years to come. Which is why I found myself leaning on this verses from Psalm 91.
Because you have made the LORD your dwelling place— the Most High, who is my refuge— no evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your tent. Psalm 91: 9-10 ESV
I pray that during this pandemic you and your family are safe, healthy, and creating a stronger relationship with Christ.

I often remind myself of the plagues, famine, and violence that occurred in the bible and it helps me to remember that I should not be surprise or afraid. If God was with Habakkuk during the invasion by the Chaldean people. He is with us.

There is nothing that we experience on this earth that is a surprise to God. Even more than that there is nothing that occurs that is out of his control.

We just need to wait and trust his timing. Because he will resolve it, that is just the God we serve. A God of perfect timing, mercy, and resolution.

If you are like me and still need a daily reminder that you can carry with you. Then order your Who God says I am scripture card set, 24 cards set with affirmation, scriptures, and prayers.

I am forever thankful for the encouragement from the word, especially on dreary, tough, or chaotic days. Being able to clearly and quickly read how God sees us. Helps us to reaffirms God's word.

This is a reminder that we are worthy children of the Highest God. In times when you're in need of validation, I pray these words to give your life purpose. Because there is no shame in needing a reminder.

I pray these verses to uplift your spirit. God willing it speaks to the part of your soul that needs to hear it most.

Blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms in Christ. Ephesians 1:3 ESV

How to get Closer to God

March 17, 2021

Have you ever felt blessed and had things going well in your life, but found yourself feeling like God's presence in your life isn't as strong as you would like it to be.

Like when you hang a picture on the wall but it's not perfectly centered. Yes, the picture is hung but it's just not quite right.

Well, once again that is how I recently found myself feeling. My cup isn't empty but it is not as full as I would like it to be.

If you enjoy this post, you may find these Bible Study blog posts helpful when it comes to reading the bible as a beginner:
Have you ever asked yourself, when did I drift away from God? How have I gotten so far from God? Then keep reading because this post is for you.

I will be sharing 4 ways to get closer to God. These simple tips on how to gain a closer relationship with God are lessons from the book of James.

4 ways to get closer to God

In your walk with God, you have to continuously take stock of the strength of your relationship with God. Are His words ringing out in your heart throughout my day?

Are you talking to Him regularly about what's happening in your life? If the answer is no.

Then it is time to make some changes in your daily habits to strengthen your relationship with him. James 1:16-18 gives us beautiful insight into things we can do to get closer to God and truly focus on Him.

Do not be deceived, my beloved brothers. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. James 1:16-18 ESV

In the past, the focus of my blog has been to encourage you to read the word of God. Because I know this is the best way to get closer to God.

Although I still think that this is one of the most important things we can do in our pursuits of the Lord.
There are 3 additional areas from James 1:16-18 that will help you get closer to God.

1. Focus on the word.
James 1:18 states that "he brought us forth by the word of truth". If God himself brought us to life with his precious word then it is safe to say this is where we should start in our pursuit to get closer to God.

We need to not only read his word but study. Study as if you were preparing for a big test at school.

You need to do more than passively read the word if you want to get to know God. You need to study the word and seek to understand the beautiful truth within the bible.

You will be surprised at how God will reveal his wisdom. You can re-read the same passage and get a different understanding each time.

2. Focus on the goodness of God.
James 1:17 says that "every good gift and every perfect gift is from above". One of the principles of prayer is thankfulness. Colossians 4:2 states to "devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful."

Focusing on God's goodness should not just a practice during prayer. But something you do during your personal time with God.

Creating a grateful heart that recognizes that all you have is from God. Believing that your life would be empty without the presence of God.

3. Focus on the faithfulness of God.
James 1:17 says "with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change." God is an unchanging God. Unlike us, God does not waver.

He stands firm and delivers on His promises. Daniel 9:4 says “O Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments."

There is no question of God's faithfulness. The surest example of God's faithfulness is in the lives of his people.

When you look at your life and the circumstances God has brought you through. Isn't it a testament to his faithfulness? In just how constant and unchanging God is.

4. Focus on God's perspective.
James 1:18 says "that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures." This one was the biggest lesson in believing that we are God's precious creations.

First fruits are the cream of the crop, the best you have to offer. You are His best, his beloved creation.

What I Wish I Knew About Spiritual Commitment

January 13, 2021

When I tell you I have been having a hard time. I have been having a time y'all.

At every turn it seemed like another thing in my life was changing, being taken away, or being compromised. Part of me was ready to give out.

I could feel myself getting ready to give up. I was ready to buckle. Prayer was not hitting the way it should. My Praise was dwindling.

But I kept reading my bible, keeping believing that God would come through, kept hoping for change.

But I was tired. My energy was gone spiritually and physically I was worn out. No matter how much rest I got. No matter how many sermons the pastor preached that hit home.

Something was still missing. Sometimes you can be committed to your faith. But still not believe.

In the past when moments like this would come. I would withdraw from the Lord and from my personal relationships.

But this time I keep going stayed committed. But my faith was weak and I knew it.

If you enjoy this post, you may find these spiritual growth blog posts helpful when it comes to rekindling your relationship with God.

It was when I read Daniel that I realized the kind of faith I wanted God to give me.

Sometimes when our life doesn't go the way we want we allow our prayer life, bible reading, worship, and spiritual commitment to dwindle.

As a result of our neglect, we find ourselves drifting from God. If you're not careful you will drift away without ever throwing out your anchor.

And glory is to God that he won't leave us out in the middle of the lake stranded. No matter how far out we get he is always there to pull us back.

But don't you know it is easier or better when you yourself throw out that anchor. The lesson or re-connection with God just hits differently when you take ownership of your spiritual journey.

I can truly say the only thing that saved my soul was knowing that I could not afford to drift again. I could not afford to go back to that place of anxiety, depression, unhappiness, and chaos. That's what my life had become when I tried to do things on my own and drifted away from God.

I had not only drifted. But my boat had a leak in it. Was quickly sinking. And I didn't know how to swim. But God was my life vest.

So even if your faith, prayer life, church attendance, or bible reading isn't where it should be. Just knowing in your heart who God is can be your saving grace.

I know it's hard. And sometimes were weary and discouraged just like the Israelites.

Wondered why did God save you to let you starve in the wilderness. But no matter where you are spiritually. I know you have at least one memory or story of God's goodness and how he has shown up for you.

There were moments when the Israelites wanted to give up and go back to slavery because they didn't understand the journey God was taking them on.

They didn't realize that God wasn't going to let them starve, instead, he sent them Manna from heaven.

They didn't yet understand that they were God's promised people. They were on a journey to the land of milk and honey.

Sometimes your journey will take you through the wilderness. In those moments you have to continue to have a heart after God.

The easiest way to prove to yourself that you have committed to your relationship with God is that you don't wallow in your problems. You don't magnify your problems. But instead, you allow your problems to bring you closer to God.

The Israelites would have never arrived at the land of milk and honey if they sat around complaining. When they left Egypt they had no clue where they were going and didn't have enough food packed for the journey.

God is the best provider and if you stay committed to him. He will get you through the wilderness.

Watch this if you're struggling to be kind

December 30, 2020

This verse really made me think. The more time I spent thinking, the more I wondered how and why we treat people the way we do. Have you ever wondered what causes you to compliment others or give generously?

I don't think we purposely try to be unkind to others. But it never hurts to examine how you treat those you encounter. Have you ever wondered what triggers you to be kind?

Watch full video here

It is a warm smile, warm greeting, or maybe a familiar face. Do you treat others well when you've heard good news. Or do you simply try to be good to others in everything you do.

Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it. Proverbs 3:27 ESV

Why we withhold good?

  • We tend to have attitudes that people around us must do something to earn goodness.
  • Why should others earn our goodness? When we did nothing to deserve God's goodness.
  • Being good is not only about giving money.
  • Just think who does it hurt for you to be good to others.

It makes you start to question your God-given purpose. Maybe this isn't what God has for me after all. I once heard someone say that Satan loves to attack you because He knows the calling God has on your life.

When I heard it, it moved me. But currently, as I sit here looking to return to work full time. And feeling like all the odds are stacked against me. That saying ain't doing much for me.

I'm like God where are you. Are you even here with me? Because just like you during hard times I often feel alone. What is it about trials and tribulations?

Grab your Encouraged Devotional and Journal now!

Tribulations always seem to make you feel as though no one understands what your going through.

That solitude or feeling of being alone is when you're most vulnerable to attacks from Satan. If you allow yourself to sit in that feeling for too long. You will begin to believe it.

Satan knows it. Satan knows if he can get you to believe that you are alone. And that no one has your back. Then he has you right where he wants you.

You will be more susceptible to doing things his way  You'll stop praying, reading your bible, and going to church.

If you enjoy this post, you may find these bible study blog posts helpful when it comes to finding strength in Christ.

And that's exactly what he wants because when your armor comes down. You will fall victim to sin and the temptations of the flesh.

It's that moment where you start to think what's the point of doing right. When things keep going wrong anyways.

Women's Bible Study Video Series | Blemished but Beautiful

October 15, 2020

I am so excited to share this women's bible study videos series which we decided to title Blemished but Beautiful Notable Women of the Bible. If you have followed my blog for a while then you know that all of my content is a result of things I need.

The idea to create this series was because I really wanted to bible study and fellowship with someone I could learn from. I just recently found a church home in May of 2019.

But like so many of you, our church doors have closed due to COVID-19. Unfortunately I haven't done to well with attending virtual/phone services.

Although I have a personal bible study routine I was missing that fellowship and opportunity to speak with others about what I am reading in the bible. Which prompted me to reach out to Cassandre Brissot because she has proven to be a women of God.

We have developed a great friendship over the last year and she is always filled with so much biblical wisdom when we speak. I approached her about doing a women's bible study video series and she said yes despite not having a YouTube channel.

If you are looking to study the life of women in the bible - Blemished but Beautiful Bible Study series - is for you! Watch this bible studies for women how we can apply lessons from Leah today. bible study women | bible study women of the bible | bible study for women beginners | bible study for women beginners reading | bible study for women free | womens bible study | womens bible study plan

But clearly that was nothing but God, because she had considered starting a channel. Therefore the idea to create a women's bible study video series was the push she needed.

I pray that you will consider watching the series and learning from these beautiful women of the bible. But to be honest I would love it if you would read the women's bible study plan.

In each video we will be sharing the reading that accompanies the women bible study topic we will be discussing. So please feel free to pause the video, do your reading, come back and watch, and comment on the video on what you learned.

Let's make this a true fellowship! We all have to start somewhere and no one is expecting you to be a bible scholar believe me I am not a scholar.

Just a women chasing after God and sharing what I am learning in hopes of encouraging another women to open her bible.

The Blemished but Beautiful women's bible study video series begins on October 15. If your reading this late, don't worry the video's are still posted and you can jump in when you ready. But don't wait!

Cassandre and I will be sharing lessons from women in the bible. For the month of October we will be discussing Leah, Hannah, and Ruth.

Be sure to subscribe because we will be returning in December or January to discuss Rachel, Zipporah, Abigail, and Deborah. Who knows if you all respond well and truly enjoy the series this could become a regular women's bible study video series.

Make sure you subscribe to both of our channels so you don't miss all the beautiful women we will be discussing in this series. I am truly praying this series is a blessing to each of you.

Be sure to order your Blemished but Beautiful bible study journal that pairs perfectly with this video series.

Trusting God in Uncertain Times

September 10, 2020
Learn how the book of Habakkuk will inspire you to trust God during seasons of uncertainty. This audio bible study with reflection questions will help you wait for God.

Have you ever had those days when nothing seems to go right? To be honest it feels like I have been having a series of those days. Let me just start by saying I don't do well with uncertainty.

I like to be in control when I don't know what's happening next. I get frustrated, afraid, anxious, and annoyed.

Uncertainty has pushed me closer to God. This is maybe why I repeatedly find myself in this situation. So that I can remember that He is in control.

It's just crazy because I was all geared up and ready to complain. But while I was in the middle of writing this blog post I started watching a vlog by Life with Us TV.

Lynette and Stanley just so happen to be sharing their experience volunteering at Meals on Wheels. Which I have done myself in the past in Florida and Georgia.

If you enjoy this post, you may find these bible study blog posts helpful when it comes to maintaining your mental health.

Back in Florida my coworkers and I actually delivered meals every week for seniors in our community. I won't lie the conditions that some of our seniors live in is heartbreaking.

So Lynette and Stanley were sharing about the fact that the Meals on Wheel program funding has recently come to an end due to changes in our government. In most states, Meal on Wheel funding has been dramatically decreased because they are now relying on private grants and funding to service their clients.

In the Atlanta area alone there are more than 300 seniors on the waiting list. This means many of our seniors are going hungry. In the Richmond area, more than 3000 seniors are going without hungry.

Needless to say, watching their vlog reminded me that there are others who are suffering and struggling. Many dealing with hardship is much more difficult than my own.

As I sat there writing this post feeling disappointed and rejected during my job search. I began to praise God because my family and I have a roof over our heads and food on our table. Many people are going without those simple things.

God is so good that today I can add to my testimony because I have a full-time job doing something I love. Helping give people the opportunity to work and provide for themselves and their families as a recruiter.

Let me not stop there because not only am I back doing what I love. But I get to work from home full time, which has been such as blessing for my family.

Now don't be fooled I still have foolish moments of pride. There are definitely still times when I get frustrated with work but I have often reminded Habakkuk...

If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay. "Behold, his soul is puffed up; it is not upright within him, but the righteous shall live by his faith. Habakkuk 2:3‭-‬4 ESV

The book of Habakkuk has been such a blessing during this season of uncertainty I am in.

Sometimes the best thing we can do during uncertainty is wait on God. Pushing yourself to pray in those moments of fear. Asking God to show you the way in which he would have you do things.

Instead of doing things your own way. Trusting that no matter how wrong, how lost, how sad, or how desperate the situation may look God is still here.

God can use the misfortunes of our lives to glorify his name. Remember what God has already brought you through. So that you can continue to go forward with confidence in the Lord.

If you are struggling to trust God because of the things that are happening in your life please grab the Habakkuk audio study. This 4 part audio and 9-day reading plan will help renew your mind.

NIV, Artisan Collection Bible Review

April 10, 2020

The NIV, Artisan Collection Bible was given to me for free in exchange for an honest review by BG2 #BibleGatewayPartner. Additionally, this post contains some affiliate links for your convenience (which means if you make a purchase after clicking a link I will earn a small commission but it won't cost you a penny more)! Read my full disclosure policy.

First thing first the NIV, Artisan Collection Bible, Cloth over Board, Pink, Art Gilded Edges, Red Letter Edition, Comfort Print, is absolutely stunning. If you've been following my blog for a while then you know my preferred reading translation is the English standard version.

But this beauty truly made me think twice since when I originally saw it I had not written in my Jesus Bible yet. You can read that review here.

If you enjoy this post, you may find this bible review blog post helpful when it comes to finding a bible that is perfect for you.

I couldn't do it though y'all. The Jesus bible just has too much supplemental information that I don't want to miss out on.

But I truly thought about it when I saw this cover. I'm not a NIV reader but that cover will make you think twice.

This bible is a beautiful option if you are in the market for a new bible. Especially since it includes margins so you can write notes or art bible journaling.

I think this will be a major game changer. Especially for those of you who want a stunning bible but don't want to spend hundreds of dollars buying a custom bible on Etsy.

Here are a few other features of the bible:

  • Complete text of the accurate, readable, and clear New International Version (NIV)
  • Stunning marbled look cover design on soft, durable cloth
  • Page edges with sparkling foil art gilding
  • Lined, wide margins for journaling, notes, and art
  • Words of Jesus in red
  • Two satin ribbon markers
  • Exclusive Zondervan NIV Comfort Print typeface
  • 9.5-point print size

10 Bible Verses to Conquer Anxiety

November 07, 2019
bible quotes for women | panic attacks | stress | depression | comforting | scripture | peace | don't worry

As someone who suffers from anxiety, I know that these verses are only a small step in your journey towards healing. None of us chose to be anxious or worried. We all try our best to surrender our fears, pains and struggles to God.

Some find it easier to overcome worry than others. You may have faith the size of a mustard seed and still suffer from anxiety. Anxiety is not a sign or symptom of a lack of faith.

My Personal Struggle with Anxiety

I'll be the first to admit I've experienced a lot of anxiety attacks. I could not tell you the trigger or cause for most of them. It always seem to escalate so quickly.

It's amazing how you can go from enjoying the warm trickle of water on your body during a shower. To feeling as though your going to pass out. Completely overwhelmed by the feelings seemingly flooding my body at once.

I grabbed my towel and hopped out of the shower. Just in the nick of time. I collapsed on my bed. It
was like a ton of bricks had hit me all at once. I felt of dizzy, nauseous, out of breathe, and exhausted.

The first time it happened I was convinced I was dying. It became a normal occurrence. After a while I just began to accept this was going to be life as I knew it.

If you enjoy this post, you may find these bible study blog post helpful when it comes to maintaining your mental health.

Everyday was like a game of Russian roulette. I never knew what to expect. Like most people I suffered in silence out of fear of judgement.

My battle with anxiety attacks went on for years. At my lowest point, I realized that I couldn't treat my anxiety attacks with wine. I decided I had to find a way to manage my stress.

So I began to bible journal. Writing became a form of therapy for me. Reading the Bible gave me a sense of security that I needed.

God saved my life again. I pray God saves yours. With these 10 bible verses that help me conquer my anxiety.
