14 Bible Verses on the Love of Christ for Valentine's Day

February 03, 2022
14 Bible Verses on the Love of Christ for Valentine's Day

Just in time for Valentine's Day I wanted to share 14 bible verses to help you focus on the love of Christ. I know typically when we talk about Valentine's Day, we discuss relationship love.

Don't feel like reading, watch the video.

But instead of focusing on relationships I wanted to focus on the love of Christ. The constant never changing love of Christ Jesus. There is no greater love than the love of Christ.

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 ESV

If you have ever read any book in the Old Testament, you begin to recognize the significance of Christ. The Old Testament will help you have more gratitude for Christ.

You should praise him for freeing is from being governed by the law. You now are governed by grace because of the crucifixion of Christ.

Reading from the Old Testament and New Testament helps you appreciate the gift of salvation we were granted through Jesus Christ. God's love and Christ's love is exemplified by his sacrifice.

Take a moment to meditate on this, Christ was free of sin. But Christ was willing to pay the ultimate price of death on the cross for our sins.

Christ Jesus died so that we may one day experience eternal life and return to our Lord Elohim. The death of Christ says a lot about the love he has for each one of us.

If you enjoy this post, you may find these Bible Study blog posts helpful when it comes to reading the bible as a beginner:

Christ Jesus death also speaks to the love God has for each one of us. God gave his only son so that we may have a chance at eternal life.

How much God must love us to sacrifice his perfect child. If you are a parent, think about if you would be willing to sacrifice your child for others.

I don't know about you. But my answer as a parent of two kids. Would surely be no. There is just no one on this earth that I would be willing to sacrifice my child for.

Download the 14 Bible Verses on the Love of Christ for Valentine's Day bible reading plan.

If you think about if Jesus were your child and you were making the decision to sacrifice them. Then you understand the magnitudes of God's sacrifice.

Even if you don't read the entire bible reading plan, I encourage you to take a moment to read a few of the verses. I want to challenge you to cherish these verses and be grateful for the love of Christ this Valentine's Day.

14 Bible Verses on the Love of Christ for Valentine's Day

  2. We love because he first loved us. 1 John 4:19 ESV

12 Promises of God for 2022

January 20, 2022
12 Promises of God for 2022

It has been way too long since I put pen to paper or thumbs to my cell phone screen. Between the Etsy shop, YouTube, and life I have not had much time to write.

Which is unfortunate since writing is my passion. It’s actually the second driving force behind my stationery shop.

For a long time in 2021 I had not written anything out of fear. I was afraid my writing was insufficient. Fearful of my grammar and spelling errors being seen all over the World Wide Web. Fear that I didn’t have anything new to say or offer.

But I'm back. Satan knows how to play on our insecurities. Man does he know how to play me like a fiddle.

God placed it in the spirit to explore his promises this year. I searched the internet and was overwhelmed by what I found. There are so many promises of God, I decided to pair it down to 12.

I thought it would be great if we could dive into 1 of the promises each month in our email tribe for January 2022. If you haven’t subscribed, join the tribe if you're interested in weekly faith-based encouragement and Chellbee Shop sales.

If you enjoy this post, you may find these Bible Study blog posts helpful when it comes to reading the bible as a beginner:

A lot of my good friends are members of the email tribe and I have made some great new friends through our email tribe as well. We are 1500+. I purged the list so if you stopped getting weekly emails your email was likely removed.

In 2022, one of my spiritual goals is to deepen my relationship with the Trinity Holy Spirit, Jesus, and God. The more I read the more I realize how important it is to differentiate between the 3.

12 Promises of God for 2022

  1. The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent. Exodus 14:14
  2. Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10
  3. I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world. John 16:33
  4. The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in his way; though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong, for the Lord upholds his hand. Psalm 37:23-24
  5. Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Matthew 11:28-29
  6. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
  7. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. James 1:5
  8. No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13
  9. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9
  10. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. John 3:36
  11. For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Matthew 6:14-15
  12. And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” Acts 16:31

How to Plan Your Best Year Ever

November 29, 2021

When I wrote this post in 2017, I was in a different place. I am amazed to just re-read and see my personal and spiritual growth. This 2022 when you are planning your next year be sure that God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are at the forefront of your plans.

2021 was filled with so many changes and battles. But what stands out the most is at the highest and lowest I always felt like God was with me. Whether it was a minor day-to-day nuisance or a major life change I knew he was right there holding my hand through it all.

I want to just encourage you to walk into 2022 with that same understanding. Call out to God. Welcome Him into your day. Leverage the gift of the Holy Spirit. When you fall short remember that Jesus already paid the price for your sins.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 ESV

At the end of 2016, I wrote down the goals I wanted to achieve for 2017. Writing down your goals is imperative for holding yourself accountable for achieving your goals. Setting checkpoints to review your goals is essential to staying on track.

I reviewed my goals bi-monthly and I thought it would be fun to do an end-of-year goal review. Before I share my goals and progress, I wanted to share the tips that I feel helped me achieve my goals.

Planning

Goal setting is would absolutely nothing without a plan. Great you have a goal but how do you plan to get it done. How are you going to get from $1,000 a month to $2,000 a month, 180 pounds to 160 pounds, receptionist to account specialist? My point is going from a to b doesn't happen simply because you wrote it down on a piece of paper. You have to sit down and brainstorm the actions you need to take in order to create your desired change.

Creating Systems

As crazy as it sounds, creating systems has been imperative to my productivity and success this year. Although creating systems can be time-consuming because it does take trial and error to find what works best for you.

For example, if you have a weight loss goal of 40 lbs. this year understanding your habits and trying different things can make or break your weight loss journey. If you're an early riser on the weekend it would be best to try a 3-day workout plan (i.e., Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday). If you know your office usually has treats that you love or lunch delivered on Friday it's likely best to make Friday a cheat day.

My point is the best way to create a win-win system is to take note of your environment, know when you are at your best, and plan for some fun. For example, I would love to sit down and write 5 blog posts in one day but that is just not realistic for me so every month I plan for a 3-4 days blog batch session. I always plan it for the middle of the month because I know the beginning and end of the month are hectic times for me.

As a thank you for reading my blog, you can download your Goal Planning Workbook now -no email required!

Adapting/Changing Course

Every good planner has a backup plan. Well, I think, every good planner knows how to adapt and readjust their course when necessary. Sometimes you'll find during your plan that it just won't work for your goal. Most of the time it's because of things that are out of our control or knowledge we didn't have when we created the plan.

But the thing about planning is when you have good habits and you're adaptable, you can still make your goals happen. For example, one of my goals this year was to grow my blog traffic. I did a lot of research, tried a lot of different tactics, but didn't see a lot of results. But I kept going at it anyway even though I wasn't seeing any change. This actually takes me to my next point.

Putting Myself Out There

I did not see any changes in my blog traffic until I stepped outside of my comfort zone. I put myself out there and began attending blogger meetups. These meetups gave me the opportunity to gain a lot of information in a small amount of time from different people all working within my field. For the record, my blog traffic doubled after this meetup and tripled the following month. All because I stepped outside of my comfort zone.

By taking the time to meet new people and being open to learning from others. I was able to adapt my plan and meet my blog traffic goal. Although there is a lot of information available online, in books, and from experts. Most people prefer to receive information from someone they know or trust.

Chellbee End of the Year Review

  • Improve my relationship with God. This is a continuous journey but I've grown a lot this year. I am looking forward to the journey ahead.
  • Prioritize spending time with my family. Naturally, I'm a hermit so we started doing Sunday Dinners. We eat, laugh, talk, and play spades together. Sunday dinners have become something I always look forward to and think about throughout my week.
  • Publish my first book. The funny thing is I had not planned to release the Faith Journal. The truth is I was writing a completely different book but God had other plans. A month before the release I dropped one idea for His will and it has been a blessing.
  • Grow my blog and brand. This has been an up-and-down battle. But I reach several of my longtime goals, readjusted my focus, and am thankful for the opportunities that have been afforded to me this year. More than anything else I'm thankful for every comment, like, tweet, and email from each one of you.

Make sure you download your super cute goal-setting worksheet to ensure you have all you need to make the most of this year.

Still, wondering if you should write down your goals? Here are 3 reasons why you should:
  1. Create a road map for the year! Take notes of your lessons learned and roadblocks.
  2. Hold you accountable for taking control of your goals.
  3. Remove the barriers that cause you to repeatedly fall short of completing your goals. You can't fix what you don’t know is broken.

Every day is what you make of it.

So, let's make the commitment together that we're going to make every day absolutely amazing. We're giving everything we have to create the life that we want today.

5 ways to Memorize Bible Verses

Memory verse | Bible Memorization | how to memorize scripture | bible study ideas | Bible study tips | bible journaling tips #bibleverse #biblestudy #scripturestudy #memorizescripture

Since becoming a new mom my bible study routine has fallen apart, to say the least.  So I'm trying to find new ways to strengthen my spiritual relationship.

One of my spiritual goals is to have a pure heart. I was inspired by my reading of Matthew 5:8 ESV says “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God."

Watch the 5 ways to Memorize Verse Full Video now! Of course, if you enjoy this video and are not currently subscribed, I would love for you to subscribe to my channel.

Of course, after reading Matthews as a new Christian I began to search the bible. I had to know how I could make my heart pure.
How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word. With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments! I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. - Psalm 119:9-11 ESV
Memorizing scriptures is a great way to keep the Lord's word close to your heart. Living according to the word is easier to do when you remember the word.

Create a goal. Be realistic of course. There is nothing worse than setting an unreachable goal to only give up halfway through.

I personally have a few different methods I use to memorize scripture.

If you are like me and still need a daily reminder that you can carry with you. Then order your Who God says I am scripture card set, 24 cards set with affirmation, scriptures, and prayers.

5 ways to Memorize Bible Verses

  1. Write it out. The Standards Method
  2. Pray it.
  3. Read it.
  4. Use the verse to create a phone or desktop wallpaper.
  5. Chose short verses, to begin with.

Write it

I write the verse on a chalkboard in my office. That way every day I go to work I recite it.

I also will write the verse in my faith journal. I have a section where I write the verse I want to memorize. Something about writing it down helps me to remember.

After COVID hit I made psalm my memory verse.
Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place— the Most High, who is my refuge— no evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your tent. Psalm 91: 9-10

Pray it

I have covered our home in prayer repeatedly reciting that verse while my husband went out every day during the pandemic working to provide for our family as an essential employee.

Use the verse you are trying to remember as a prayer. Recite it.

Read it

I also started putting my scripture cards on my desk. I also keep an encouraging verse on my stand. During those difficult moments during the workday or just those quiet moments.

I read that scripture to myself.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11

I don’t think there is one sure-to-work method when it comes to memorizing scripture you have to try different things to figure out what works for you.

When I first started trying to memorize scripture I would write it on my hand. But my husband was concerned it isn’t good for you.

If you look down my timeline on Instagram you’ll notice I had verses written on my hand.

Bonus tip I've found an effective way to memorizing scriptures is by creating phone wallpaper. This method is how I memorized Luke 1:27. If you want to that wallpaper for yourself download my Faith Kit now!

As a thank you for reading this blog post I've created 15 Bible Verse Phone Wallpapers so be sure to download yours now!

How to Cut Cardstock with Silhouette Portrait - Studio Vlog #2

July 23, 2021

When I was researching uses for the Silhouette Portrait 3 I could not find much content about cutting cardstock. In my search I quickly found out Silhouette Cameo is equipped to cut cardstock.

But I was not ready to spend that type of money on a cutting machine when I was not even sure it would serve its purpose.

I decided to give the Silhouette Portrait a try, based on the few tutorials I found on cardstock. Electronic cutters are definitely great options for intricate and detailed projects.

Bible verse cards are my most popular product, cutting them does not take a lot of detail work but it is time-consuming to cut them by hand with the paper guillotine. Additionally cutting by hand is less precise and doesn't provide uniform results like the Silhouette Portrait.

How to Cut Cardstock with Silhouette Portrait

The Silhouette Portrait requires you to utilize their software to identify where the machine will need to cut. I suggest adding registration marks to help the machine identify the cut area.

Silhouette Studio is easy to use and most of all it is free. You can design within the studio or import your design which is what I typically do.

However, I have had a few issues with my cutting machine. Lighting is important when using your cutting machine, dim lighting can lead to your Silhouette Portrait cutting machine failing to read the registration marks. You can remedy this by purchasing a desk light.

Here is the list of supplies you will need to cut cardstock on the Silhouette Portrait electronic cutter.

Cutting Cardstock with Silhouette Portrait Supplies

  • Portrait Cutting Machine - easy to use the cutting machine and great bundle with all you need to get started
  • HP Laptop - you will need a laptop to design and send cardstock to the electronic cutting machine
  • Desk light  - key to getting your machine to read registration marks every time
  • Cutting mats - inexpensive cutting mats, thicker than the Silhouette brand. Great for cutting cardstock.

Step by Step on How to Cut Cardstock with Silhouette Portrait

  1. Import or create your design in Silhouette Studio.
  2. Add your cut areas and create your Page Setup.
  3. Once complete, print your design on desired cardstock.
  4. Stick your printed cardstock design onto your Silhouette Portrait cutting matt.
  5. With your design open in Silhouette Studio, go to the "Send" tab.
  6. Ensure to select cardstock - there are several cardstock paper options.
  7. Initially, send your design using the preset auto blade setting for your desired cardstock.
    • If the setting doesn't properly cut your item. Try increasing the force by 2-3.
    • If it still is not properly cut try increasing the blade setting by 1-2.
    • If it still is not properly cut increase the number of passes.

How to pack orders for Etsy - Studio Vlog #1

July 09, 2021

My first studio vlog has been a long time coming. I loved editing this video and seeing my growth even in just a few months.

Since the conception of Chellbee there has always been freebies and a shop. My shop originally featured planning printables including my popular wedding planner printable.

Later I added journals and devotionals. I have always loved stationery, I believe writing and journaling are therapeutic.

With your support and visits to Chellbee.com I was able to invest in my stationery business to create and offer products to help you in your spiritual journey. From bible verse cards to stickers to greeting cards to journals.

It is such a blessing to have the opportunity to be a part of your spiritual journey. I pray whatever you order or read brings you closer to the Lord.

How to pack orders for Etsy

As a small business owner packaging is really important it is the first impression you make on your customer. You want to give them a memorable experience in hopes that they will shop with you again.

There are a lot of different packing order options for Etsy and small business owners. There are a variety of packaging supply options eco-friendly, custom with branding, or do it yourself.

Wherever choice you make just get started. When it came to packaging for my shop I did a lot of research to try to determine the different types of packaging options available because I was not familiar with shipping supplies.

The most popular mailer options

  1. Poly mailers - ideal for clothing
  2. Bubble mailers - ideal for beauty, jewelry, etc.
  3. Rigid mailers - ideal for stickers, cards, etc.
  4. Envelopes - ideal for stickers and greeting cards
  5. Shipping boxes - ideal for stationery, food, etc.

You will need to consider the method by which you are shipping your packages as well. My shop utilizes USPS First Class it is inexpensive and a great option if your products are under 16 oz.

I personally utilize Etsy shipping, I am able to ship right from my home which is great. Shipping from home is really easy with Etsy.

USPS also has a ship from home option that I use for my website. In order to ship from home you will be needing a postal scale they are inexpensive you can find them on Amazon for under $30.

Shipping Method

  • Etsy Shipping - a great option if you have an Etsy shop that offers discounted shipping.
  • USPS Click N Ship - a great way to ship from home and skip the postal service lines.
  • Ship Station - this is a better option if you have shops on several websites there is a monthly fee.
  • Pirate shipping - offer to ship for several different shop platforms, they claim there is no monthly fee.

My shop is at the beginning stage. I had to invest heavily in supplies to create products. Therefore custom packaging is not a priority at this point.

You can still give your customers a great experience and brand your packages. By utilizing stickers you can place your logo on your products as well as your shipping supplies.

When you are deciding on packaging for your Etsy orders be sure to consider how to best protect your products. It is not helpful to have cute packaging if your items arrive damaged.

You will also need to consider including do not bend or fragile stickers if you have items that can easily be damaged but can't be mailed in rigid mailers.

    Etsy packaging supplies

    • Sticker Paper - you can create logo stickers and even do no bend stickers if needed
    • Large bubble mailer - I use bubble mailers to protect my products because my cardholders do not fit in rigid mailers.
    • Small bubble mailer - you may need a variety of mailer sizes depending on the products you offer.
    • Rigid mailer - great if you are shipping flat items.
    • Tissue paper - I wrap all my products I think it is a nice presentation and makes the customer feel like they are receiving a gift.

4 Affordable Ways to KonMari Your Pantry

    April 14, 2021
KonMari Pantry | Learn how to apply the KonMari method and organize your pantry. These tips are perfect for those new to the KonMari or interested in finding out what KonMari even means. pantries | kitchens | organized pantry | pantry storage | kitchen pantry organization | pantry organization ideas

Maybe it's just me but I feel a bit bombarded by this KonMari movement. Between the trending topics on Pinterest, my Google feed, and suggested Youtube video. I can't help but to get hit over the head with it.

Are you with me or am I totally alone here?

It feels like everyone is talking about KonMari everywhere I turn. And somehow I have managed to live on this little island until now. I say that because when I began to finally read the post I noticed they dated back more than a year or so. So I am totally late to the party, as usual.

Are you wondering what the heck is a KonMari and what it has to do with home organizing? Or better yet why is everyone talking about it?

Initially I was not interested in discussing it with the #tribe. Because I wasn't sure if I could add anything new to the conversation especially being so late.

But as a teacher told me, there is no new concept just remixes. So here's my remix on the KonMari method.

For those of you who are late to the KonMari party, but are curious enough that you decided to lift your head up out of the sand on your imaginary island.

In this post, I will explain what the KonMari method is, the rules of the KonMari method (as stated by KonMari herself), 4 ways to KonMari your pantry, and as always where you can find affordable essential for your KonMari pantry organization project.

    KonMari Method Basics

The KonMari Method encourages tidying by category – not by location – beginning with clothes, then moving on to books, papers, miscellaneous items, and, finally, sentimental items. Keep only those things that speak to the heart, and discard items that no longer spark joy. People around the world have been drawn to this philosophy because it places great importance on being mindful, introspective and forward-looking.

    6 Rules of KonMari

According to Marie Kondo, there are 6 simple rules to follow when decluttering and organizing your home. Be sure to keep reading this post to see how I you can apply these rules to decluttering and organizing your pantry.
      1. Commit to tidying up.
Pretty much like anything else in life mindset is key. When it comes to keeping a tidy home mindset is just as important. Which is why this is likely rule number 1, because the KonMari method starts with making a lifestyle change.
#tribe I know you are not a slob, but for the sake of the KonMari method you gotta commit girl.

          2. Imagine your ideal lifestyle.

Although I noticed that the overall theme about KonMari on Pinterest seemed to focus on minimalist style and the use of labels. The true aim of the method seems to be focused on encouraging you to be  intentional.
You may not want a farmhouse Pinterest stamped home. Your ideal lifestyle may be an off the grid cabin or a townhouse in a trendy downtown neighborhood where you can walk to a local restaurant or park with your family.
Whatever your ideal lifestyle is you need to know what that. Because once you know your ideal lifestyle. Then you can organize your home in a way that fits that.

                    3. Finish discarding first.

If you are apart of the #tribe you know I highly recommend beginning each home organization project by sorting and discarding unwanted items. Organizing and decluttering your home usually start with getting rid of stuff you don't need.

Just sit down. Sort through it all. And let go of some stuff. Because if it doesn't serve a purpose currently then it is likely time to let it go. Let those items find a new home with someone who actually needs it.

There are so many shelter that need supplies.

Of course you can always give to your local Goodwill. But when possible I recommend going directly to a shelter because you know the items are going directly to someone in need.

This is in by no means in offensive to the Goodwill. But since they are so well known they tend to get a lot of donations whereas local shelters often go without there basic needs being met.

Please note the Goodwill is a great organization that provides a lot of support to those in needs. They make a point to provide transparency and provide support to those in need.

                          4. Tidy by category, not by location.

I may have misunderstood this rule, sorry I didn't read the book y'all. If I have butchered this rule please correct me below in the comments section.

I organize my home by areas, clearly you can tell that by the content I share on Big Bold Dream. I don't necessarily understand how you can organize by category and not locations.
I guess maybe you could go organize all the clothes in your home. But if that's what she had in mind. Then I definitely can't get with that.
It's hard enough for me to organize under the kitchen sink. I definitely can't organize all the clothes in my home at once.
I can take or leave this rule. #tribe what are your thoughts on the KonMari method I would love to hear from you, let's continue the conversation.

                                    5. Follow the right order.
Now, what now? I have no clue what this means. So I'm not even going to go there. I guess we need to read the book for this one to make sense.

                                        6. Ask yourself if it sparks joy.
A big part of the minimalist movement focuses on purging. The KonMari method seems to be focused on intentional purging. Which is important, because it doesn't make sense to throw away stuff your only going to repurchase later.

You should definitely keep anything with sentimental value.

10 things that God say I am

                                          April 07, 2021
21 days of verses to remind you who you are. affirmations | encouragement verses scriptures | faith verses scriptures encouragement | #bible #bibleverse #encouragement #redeemed #blessed #strong #beloved

All so often on this blog I create resources on this blog to help me in my own spiritual journey. Every time you all respond or visit these post often I am so surprised.

This post is just a simple reminder of who God says you are. Though this post was originally published in April 25, 2019 it is one of my most popular blog post. I'm thrilled to have confirmation that I am not the only one who needs the reminder.

During this COVID-19 pandemic I found myself needing these reminder even more. There were so many unknown when the crisis began and I still think there is a lot of information we will not know for years to come. Which is why I found myself leaning on this verses from Psalm 91.
Because you have made the LORD your dwelling place— the Most High, who is my refuge— no evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your tent. Psalm 91: 9-10 ESV
I pray that during this pandemic you and your family are safe, healthy, and creating a stronger relationship with Christ.

I often remind myself of the plagues, famine, and violence that occurred in the bible and it helps me to remember that I should not be surprise or afraid. If God was with Habakkuk during the invasion by the Chaldean people. He is with us.

There is nothing that we experience on this earth that is a surprise to God. Even more than that there is nothing that occurs that is out of his control.

We just need to wait and trust his timing. Because he will resolve it, that is just the God we serve. A God of perfect timing, mercy, and resolution.

If you are like me and still need a daily reminder that you can carry with you. Then order your Who God says I am scripture card set, 24 cards set with affirmation, scriptures, and prayers.

I am forever thankful for the encouragement from the word, especially on dreary, tough, or chaotic days. Being able to clearly and quickly read how God sees us. Helps us to reaffirms God's word.

This is a reminder that we are worthy children of the Highest God. In times when you're in need of validation, I pray these words to give your life purpose. Because there is no shame in needing a reminder.

I pray these verses to uplift your spirit. God willing it speaks to the part of your soul that needs to hear it most.

How to get Closer to God

                                          March 17, 2021

Have you ever felt blessed and had things going well in your life, but found yourself feeling like God's presence in your life isn't as strong as you would like it to be.

Like when you hang a picture on the wall but it's not perfectly centered. Yes, the picture is hung but it's just not quite right.

Well, once again that is how I recently found myself feeling. My cup isn't empty but it is not as full as I would like it to be.

If you enjoy this post, you may find these Bible Study blog posts helpful when it comes to reading the bible as a beginner:
Have you ever asked yourself, when did I drift away from God? How have I gotten so far from God? Then keep reading because this post is for you.

I will be sharing 4 ways to get closer to God. These simple tips on how to gain a closer relationship with God are lessons from the book of James.

4 ways to get closer to God

In your walk with God, you have to continuously take stock of the strength of your relationship with God. Are His words ringing out in your heart throughout my day?

Are you talking to Him regularly about what's happening in your life? If the answer is no.

Then it is time to make some changes in your daily habits to strengthen your relationship with him. James 1:16-18 gives us beautiful insight into things we can do to get closer to God and truly focus on Him.

Do not be deceived, my beloved brothers. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. James 1:16-18 ESV

In the past, the focus of my blog has been to encourage you to read the word of God. Because I know this is the best way to get closer to God.

Although I still think that this is one of the most important things we can do in our pursuits of the Lord.
There are 3 additional areas from James 1:16-18 that will help you get closer to God.

                                          1. Focus on the word.
James 1:18 states that "he brought us forth by the word of truth". If God himself brought us to life with his precious word then it is safe to say this is where we should start in our pursuit to get closer to God.

We need to not only read his word but study. Study as if you were preparing for a big test at school.

You need to do more than passively read the word if you want to get to know God. You need to study the word and seek to understand the beautiful truth within the bible.

You will be surprised at how God will reveal his wisdom. You can re-read the same passage and get a different understanding each time.

                                          2. Focus on the goodness of God.
James 1:17 says that "every good gift and every perfect gift is from above". One of the principles of prayer is thankfulness. Colossians 4:2 states to "devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful."

Focusing on God's goodness should not just a practice during prayer. But something you do during your personal time with God.

Creating a grateful heart that recognizes that all you have is from God. Believing that your life would be empty without the presence of God.

                                          3. Focus on the faithfulness of God.
James 1:17 says "with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change." God is an unchanging God. Unlike us, God does not waver.

He stands firm and delivers on His promises. Daniel 9:4 says “O Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments."

There is no question of God's faithfulness. The surest example of God's faithfulness is in the lives of his people.

When you look at your life and the circumstances God has brought you through. Isn't it a testament to his faithfulness? In just how constant and unchanging God is.

                                          4. Focus on God's perspective.
James 1:18 says "that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures." This one was the biggest lesson in believing that we are God's precious creations.

First fruits are the cream of the crop, the best you have to offer. You are His best, his beloved creation.

The Beautiful Word Coloring Bible is the perfect gift for the young and teen girl in your life. The set was beautifully crafted and includes leatherette coloring Bible, sticker sheets, and four coloring pencil set.

Although this bible was created for young girls I think it is perfect for anyone who enjoys bible study and coloring. This would be a great gift for a beginner or budget conscious bible journal.

With many of the pages already designed with beautiful scripted lettering it is set and ready for you to express yourself.

I like the detail they put into the design including how they outlined the 10 commandments. This is one of those gifts that just keeps giving.

Even if they do nothing but color the outlined scriptures' on each page. You know that something will have to stick. I don't know about you but that is enough for me.
