Since becoming a new mom my bible study routine has fallen apart, to say the least.  So I'm trying to find new ways to strengthen my spiritual relationship.

One of my spiritual goals is to have a pure heart. I was inspired by my reading of Matthew 5:8 ESV says “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God."

Watch the 5 ways to Memorize Verse Full Video now! Of course, if you enjoy this video and are not currently subscribed, I would love for you to subscribe to my channel.

Of course, after reading Matthews as a new Christian I began to search the bible. I had to know how I could make my heart pure.
How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word. With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments! I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. - Psalm 119:9-11 ESV
Memorizing scriptures is a great way to keep the Lord's word close to your heart. Living according to the word is easier to do when you remember the word.

Create a goal. Be realistic of course. There is nothing worse than setting an unreachable goal to only give up halfway through.

I personally have a few different methods I use to memorize scripture.

If you are like me and still need a daily reminder that you can carry with you. Then order your Who God says I am scripture card set, 24 cards set with affirmation, scriptures, and prayers.

5 ways to Memorize Bible Verses

  1. Write it out. The Standards Method
  2. Pray it.
  3. Read it.
  4. Use the verse to create a phone or desktop wallpaper.
  5. Chose short verses, to begin with.

Write it

I write the verse on a chalkboard in my office. That way every day I go to work I recite it.

I also will write the verse in my faith journal. I have a section where I write the verse I want to memorize. Something about writing it down helps me to remember.

After COVID hit I made psalm my memory verse.
Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place— the Most High, who is my refuge— no evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your tent. Psalm 91: 9-10

Pray it

I have covered our home in prayer repeatedly reciting that verse while my husband went out every day during the pandemic working to provide for our family as an essential employee.

Use the verse you are trying to remember as a prayer. Recite it.

Read it

I also started putting my scripture cards on my desk. I also keep an encouraging verse on my stand. During those difficult moments during the workday or just those quiet moments.

I read that scripture to myself.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11

I don’t think there is one sure-to-work method when it comes to memorizing scripture you have to try different things to figure out what works for you.

When I first started trying to memorize scripture I would write it on my hand. But my husband was concerned it isn’t good for you.

If you look down my timeline on Instagram you’ll notice I had verses written on my hand.

Bonus tip I've found an effective way to memorizing scriptures is by creating phone wallpaper. This method is how I memorized Luke 1:27. If you want to that wallpaper for yourself download my Faith Kit now!

As a thank you for reading this blog post I've created 15 Bible Verse Phone Wallpapers so be sure to download yours now!

Watch this if you're struggling to be kind

December 30, 2020

This verse really made me think. The more time I spent thinking, the more I wondered how and why we treat people the way we do. Have you ever wondered what causes you to compliment others or give generously?

I don't think we purposely try to be unkind to others. But it never hurts to examine how you treat those you encounter. Have you ever wondered what triggers you to be kind?

Watch full video here

It is a warm smile, warm greeting, or maybe a familiar face. Do you treat others well when you've heard good news. Or do you simply try to be good to others in everything you do.

Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it. Proverbs 3:27 ESV

Why we withhold good?

  • We tend to have attitudes that people around us must do something to earn goodness.
  • Why should others earn our goodness? When we did nothing to deserve God's goodness.
  • Being good is not only about giving money.
  • Just think who does it hurt for you to be good to others.

God always Provides

December 02, 2020

God will equip us with all we need to bring glory to his kingdom. You don't need to be eloquent or perfect or even without sin in order to fill the purpose that God has for your life.
“Oh, my Lord, I am not eloquent, either in the past or since you have spoken to your servant, but I am slow of speech and of tongue.”Then the Lord said to him, “Who has made man's mouth?” - Exodus 4:10-11 ESV

1 Verse to Read when you are Weary

November 01, 2019

John 16:33 says that we will all face tribulation. If Jesus himself perfect in all his ways suffered. Then why should you expect that your life should be free of adversity.

Today we will discuss why life is hard, how to overcome difficult times, how to find God strength, and the best bible verse for encouragement when faced with adversity.

Life is Hard

The is no mistaking the fact that life is hard. You can go from the highest of highest to the lowest or lowest within moments.

But the thing that brings me comfort in the moments of weariness. Is recognizing that I am not alone.

Not only is God with me during these difficult times of adversity. But my brothers and sisters in Christ are also faced with hardship.

Just as Christ overcame this world. So shall we.

Overcoming Weariness

I won't pretend there is some magic pill that will cure your weariness. Because there is not.

You and I are different. In that we find comfort during adversity in different things.

Grab your Encouraged Devotional and Journal now!

You may find encouragement in hearing the stories of other's hardship, reading the bible, praying, or reflecting on the hardship that God has already helped you to overcome.

I would like to think that as a woman of faith you recognize that the key to overcoming weariness is God.

If you enjoy this post, you may find these bible study blog post helpful when it comes to finding strength in Christ.

God is your Strength

All who live will experience tribulation without a doubt. But as Christians it is our faith in God almighty that grants us the strength to go on.

Not in my own strength can I handle or carry the hardships I have overcome. Even as I sit here speaking with you I am filled with the sorrow of my past.

It is only the magnificent Glory of God that gives me the strength. He grants us power.

When you look back over the adversity you have faced. Recognizing that you have made it through.

It gives you the courage to continue going forward no matter what obstacles you face. His strength is what you must call on.

Please don't underestimate the power of God. He can and will help you to overcome whatever may come your way.

Bible Verse for Encouragement

This is the verse I turn to when I feel like my life is full of suffering. If you have ever wondered how will I go on after this. Then you must read this verse.

Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. Romans 5:3-5 NIV

Affirmation for Encouragement

I wanted to share this affirmation with you as a reminder that your current circumstances won't last forever.

I may have lost. But I am not lost. Because I have you Lord. Lost is simply an intervention. I declare that blessings are coming my way. That this pain is only temporary. Because I am His.

I want to close this post with a short prayer.

Even when life gets hard. You give him the glory, honor, and praise that He deserves. Because He is a worthy God.

Lord we thank you for your strength. For your mercy and your goodness. That Father God even in our adversity you are with us.

Pushing us forward. You are an awesome God. We thank you because we know with you we can overcome all things.

I personally invite you to do this very thing, to find comfort in God, through my Encouraged devotional and journal. A Season of Waiting

September 12, 2019

Throughout your life, you will often find yourself experiencing different spiritual seasons. No one season is alike but they all have one thing in common. If you cling closely to God's word you will come out of that season better than how you entered it.

Not all seasons are difficult. Nevertheless, in every season we must acknowledge, praise, and honor God. So whether you are experiencing a season of abundance, grinding, test and trials, happiness, spiritual warfare, or waiting.

If you enjoy this post, take a minute to bookmark one of these prayer blog posts for later. I promise you will find helpful tips for reading the bible as a beginner.
With prayer and God's guidance, you can overcome any season. I challenge you to examine yourself in every season looking for the areas in which God is trying to help you to grow.

Below you will find a prayer to help you Trust God during your difficult seasons and 3 journaling prompts for a season of waiting. Hopefully, if you find yourself in a season of waiting you will take a moment to reflect on the lessons that God is trying to show you.

Prayer to Trust God
Dear Heavenly Father, help me to truly trust you. Help me to stay focused on just how mighty of a God you are. Instead of focusing on my trials and tribulations.

Father, I pray that with every obstacle I face that I draw closer to you. Remember that you created the entire universe with just an utter of a word.

Believing that any problem that may arise you will use it for my good in the end. Help me to recognize during those difficult times that If you could create this would in just an utter. That I can't begin to imagine the things you can do to change my circumstances.

I know that Jesus too conquered this world. And so shall I because I trust you and I believe your word is the truth.

Father enables me to move mountains with mustard seed-sized faith. I believe that my faith can change my circumstances.

I ask that you remove anything in my life or mind that causes me to think otherwise. Strengthen me so that these words that I pray may become who I am in my actions. Give me the faith to act as though my circumstances have already changed. Because I know they will. In Jesus name, we pray Amen.

5 Bible verses for Stress

August 15, 2019
Bible verse for anxiety | bible quotes for women | panic attacks | stress | depression | comforting | scripture | peace | don't worry #bibleverse #stress

You don't have to do it alone. Those are the words I have to keep telling myself and sharing with others. Yes, you are amazing. Yes, you can do all things in Christ.

But you don't have to do it alone. It's okay to ask for help. It doesn't make you less of a woman, wife, mother, or professional. God put all these people in your life because you don't have to do it alone.

If you enjoy this post, you may find these bible study blog posts helpful when it comes to maintaining your mental health.

Watch the Top 5 Bible verses for Stress Full Video now!

I know I'm repeating myself. But I had to say this to myself a lot of times and hear it from a lot of different people. Before I actually had the courage to open my mouth and ask for help.

Whatever you're struggling to manage. Whatever is keeping you up at night. Whatever is plaguing your brain and making it difficult for you to have peace.

I encourage you today to give it to God. Ask him to intervene on your behalf. To place those in your path that can help you to overcome. And trust that God will make you whole again.

You don't have to be stressed. Don't claim it. That's one of the things I had to give up was saying,  I'm stressed out.

Instead of being stressed out, look at what areas you are being stretched in. Think of how you can find relief in those areas of your life. Because God won't give you more than you can handle.

Storytime

Life is truly crazy. I was literally sitting down reading Fervent by Priscilla Shirer when I received a text from a friend. She asked that I please pray for her.

She told me that over the weekend she found herself feeling anxious. And at some point she found herself having suicidal thoughts. She didn't act on it but just the fact that she had the thoughts concerned her.

All I could think is this ain't nothing but the devil.

I have never been one for giving the devil credit. To be honest I have always been one who underestimated the devil. Therefore I never took the time to understand the way he works within our lives to try to keep us from achieving God's glory.

But reading Fervent helped me to better understand how the devil works and who he is based on scripture. Moreover, Priscilla teaches how to use prayer to overcome the schemes of Satan.

Today I wanted to share the prayer that I prayed for her. Now I'm sharing it with you in hopes that if you find yourself facing anxiety this will help you cope.

Prayer for Anxiety and Stress

Dear Heavenly Father, we know that Satan is constantly at work to undermine you. Constantly plotting and creating plans that are targeted at our weaknesses. So much so that we often fail to recognize the salvation we have in Christ. For us, every failure and sin is already forgiven.

Lord help us to choose you every day despite temptation. Stay in the forefront of our hearts, minds, and spirits. Take our burdens and remove the spirit of fear that tries to render us powerless to anxiety.

Because we know that you gave us a spirit of courage and self-discipline. We know that you have a plan and purpose for our lives. Any thoughts that try to hinder us from following your will.

We ask that you remove them, Father. We ask that you remove anything from our lives that does not bring you glory. For we know you deserve all the honor, praise, and glory.

We just come to you today asking for your help. Help us to trust you within every area of our life. Help us to be ok with not understanding the fullness of your plan. And most of all helps us to lean on your wisdom and not our own understanding. May all our sins, fears, failures, and faults be covered with the blood of Jesus. Amen

5 Bible Verses for Stress

  1. Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. James 1:2-4 ESV
  2. Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established. Proverbs 16:3 ESV
  3. When the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul. Psalms 94:19 ESV
  4. "Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:29-30 ESV
  5. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 ESV

How to be a Godly Wife

July 11, 2019
Women bible study ideas | Discover the scripture truth about being a Godly wife. This scripture bible study is perfect for newlyweds and wives who need help understanding how to be a good helpmate. Bible study plans | bible study printables | devotionals | scripture studies | bible study reading plans #affirmation #prayer

I have been reading Exodus for a while now -let's just say it's taking me longer than I'd like to admit. I'm still struggling to balance it all.

Anyways while reading Exodus I came across a verse that confused me. Honestly it seemed rather out of place. I found myself rereading the verse over and over out of fear that I missed something. There was simply no lead up to it.

Watch the How to be a Godly Wife Full Video now! Of course, if you enjoy this video and are not currently subscribed, I would love for you to subscribe to my channel.

At a lodging place on the way the Lord met him and sought to put him to death. Then Zipporah took a flint and cut off her son's foreskin and touched Moses' feet with it and said, “Surely you are a bridegroom of blood to me!”So he let him alone. It was then that she said, “A bridegroom of blood,” because of the circumcision. - Exodus 4:24-26 ESV

I was lost. What had made God so angry so fast. Well after reading it in several different versions I realized what angered God.

Moses had failed to fulfill his end of his covenant with God. Although God wanted to use Moses to save the people of Israel. He wasn't going to do so without the covenant being met.

Zipporah being a Godly wife she recognized that she could intervene and save her husband life. Because she knew the word. Zipporah stepped out on faith and circumcised her son to save Moses life.

How to be a Godly Wife what I've learned from Zipporah

  • As a wife, you have the power to save your husbands life.
  • You maybe physically smaller than your husband. Spiritual strength and power is just as important - if not more important than physical strength.
  • Let God's word be the instruction manual for your lives.
  • Don't be afraid to step out on faith on your husbands' behalf. Your prayers and spiritual action go a long way with God.

Never underestimate your value as his wife. You are his helpmate, he needs you.

Stand on God's word and don't be afraid to step up like Zipporah.

Bible Study | Discover the scripture truth about God's grace. This scripture bible study is perfect for women and moms who struggle to believe they are worthy. Bible study plans | bible study reading plans | bible journaling tips | soap notebook #bible #biblestudy

Do you ever think I'm just not worthy? Why would God love me? How can He forgive me? When I've done nothing to show Him I deserve His forgiveness and love.

I can recall feeling like this quite often in the past. But once I learned what God's grace truly means the feelings of unworthiness finally stopped.

If you enjoy this post, you may find these Morning Coffee ☕ with Chellbee blog posts helpful when it comes to reading the bible as a beginner.

The truth about grace is we aren't being saved by God because of our heroic or faithful actions.

We were saved simply because of God's grace.
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. - Ephesians 2:8-9 ESV

I know you wanted to think God saved you because you pray, are saved, attend church, or memorize scriptures. But the truth about God's grace is in the word. There is nothing you have accomplished that makes you worthy of God's grace.

It is by your faith and faith alone that God grants you grace. We would be wandering souls without His grace. Being moved by our desires. Enslaved by the desires of our flesh.

But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us,even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ— by grace you have been saved—For by grace you have been saved through faith. - Ephesians 2:4-5 ESV

Today I just want to encourage you during those moments when you're feeling stressed or unworthy. Remember that by having faith that God's word is the truth and the salvation bestowed by Christ. You already have the gift of God's grace.

I have been anxiously waiting to show you my urban garden. This video has been a long time coming.

Originally I planned on purchasing potted plants but after some research starting from seed proved to be less expensive. Most of my garden supplies came from the dollar tree excluding my soil, lights, and large seed starting trays. Gardening doesn't have to be expensive.

Proverbs 31 | Armor of god | How to Pray | Prayer scriptures | War room ideas | #bibleverse #prayer #prayer

When you've been called...

Throughout my blogging journey I have lost and found my voice. I have questioned if what I'm doing is right. Is it worth it?

Am I truly helping others? Or am I simply fooling myself. But then doing my bible study of Proverbs I came across a scripture that spoke to me.

Watch the When God calls you to Speak Full Video now! Of course, if you enjoy this video and are not currently subscribed, I would love for you to subscribe to my channel.

Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute. Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy. - Proverbs 31:8-9 ESV

I may not be speaking for the homeless. But I am speaking to those who are often spiritually poor or in need. The reality is you never know who you can or may help unless you speak up.

I encourage you not give in to fear. Know that your voice needs to be heard. I know our world is loud but that doesn't mean that there isn't someone out there that needs to hear from you. I just want to pray for you and let you know that God has called you.

Prayer for When God calls you to Speak

Dear Heavenly Father grant me the courage to speak out for those in need. Give me sound mind, judgement, and wisdom. Help me to help those in need. Most of all, help us all to care about others more than ourselves. Help us to see one another as the brothers and sisters you created us to be. In Jesus name we pray Amen.

Cloth Diapering Wash Routine

April 18, 2019

One of the things that made me hesitant about cloth diapering was the dreaded wash routine. I didn't want to commit to an elaborate daily routine. I knew my hands would be full enough with taking care of the little one.

Like many other new moms I did a lot of research on cloth diapering. Weighing the pros and cons to determine if doing laundry every day was worth it. Searching for the best way to wash our cloth diapers without spending too much money, time, or energy.

But ultimately it took trial and error to find a cloth diaper wash routine that worked best for our family. Moral of the story if my suggestions don't work for you don't be afraid to make adjustments.

Christian Girl Tips for Marriage Transition

April 04, 2019

When it comes to marriage preparation seems to be a word we rarely speak of. It seems as though wedding planning seems to be the only preparation we take before tying the knots. unless you have the foresight to have prenuptial counseling.

You're likely unprepared for the unpredictability of living with your spouse. We surely we're. Even if you live together prior to being married. Things change once you get married. I can't verbalize how it changes but it just does.

How to Cloth Diaper on a Budget

March 21, 2019

Cloth diapering is a world all of it's own. There is an endless amount of information out there about cloth diapering. So much so that cloth diapering for the first time can be very overwhelming.

There are so many decisions to make. Whether you are going to use all in ones, all in twos, pocket diapers, pre-folds, one size fits all, and the list goes on and on. After a lot of research I decided to use all in 2.

Which traditionally includes cotton pre-folds and diaper covers. We decided against all in ones and pocket diapers. They seem to be a lot like reusable disposable diapers because the entire diaper needs to be washed.

Hybrid or All in 2

  • Hybrid tends to be less expensive
  • Diaper cover can be used through multiple diaper changes as long as its clean, you can simply replace the pre-fold.
  • Diaper covers can also be purchased in one size fits all. You can use the same diaper cover from infancy to potty training.
  • If you have a diy spirit you can try sewing your own diaper covers. I sewed about 24 diaper covers for our little one and it cost about $4 for each.
  • Buying used cloth diapers is another great way to save money. I purchased most of our cotton pre-folds secondhand from another local mom on Facebook.
  • If you decided to buy second hand be sure to price buying new versus buying used. Sometimes paying for shipping can make buying new cheaper.
  • Watch the What's in my Diaper Bag video

How Many Diapers do I need?

  • Even if you launder your diapers every day you will likely want to have enough diapers to make it through about 1 and a half day.
  • For a newborn I would recommend having at least 16 pre-folds and 12 pre-fold for an older baby.
  • I would recommend having at least 3-5 diaper covers.

Watch the How to Cloth Diaper on a Budget Full Video. Of course, if you enjoy this video and are not currently subscribed, I would love for you to subscribe to my channel.

I will be the first to say that my cloth diapering stash may not be impressive. Especially if you're a cloth diapering junkie who loves to have different patterns and brands. For us cloth diapering was all about saving money.

I can't say enough about how much of a blessing cloth diapering has been on our household budget. Being able to care for baby Rose without the stress of formula and disposable diapers has been a blessing.

I will admit it can be a lot of work cloth diapering. But after about a month you get use to doing laundry daily. Traveling outside of the home often can create a bit of an obstacle. Anywho this is how I spent less than $150 on my Cloth Diaper Stash that's worth $350.
  • $87.53 Covers
  • $20 Prefolds FB
  • $14 Snappies
  • $18 Wipes (30)
  • $33 (gifted prefolds infant)
  • $35 (giftcard prefold premium)
  • $24 (giftcard cover one size & infant)

The key to traveling while cloth diapering is doing laundry frequently. Personally we like to keep a few disposables in our diaper bag as a back up. Because there have been times when I've forgot to pack the cloth diapers in the diaper bag.

You will also want to ensure that your little one caregivers know how to properly change and store dirty cloth diapers. Preparation is key when it comes to cloth diapering.

An ideal cloth diaper stash should include enough diapers to make it through 1 and a half days. Currently for us that means having at least 15 cloth diapers - we actually have around 25 cloth diapers in Rose's current size.

We cloth diaper using the hybrid method so in addition to cotton prefolds (which I refer to as cloth diapers) we use cloth diaper covers. We have about 28 cloth diaper covers total - 3 pre-made cloth diaper cover - and they are all one size fits all.

How to Gain Self-Confidence for Christian Women

February 21, 2019

I'm not the first and for sure I won't be the last woman to have self-doubt. Confidence does not always come naturally or easily. We all have something we want to change about ourselves.

There is nothing wrong with embracing change as long as you love who you are right now. At times we as woman all struggle to balance self confidence with societies standards of beauty. Don't let other determine how you feel about yourself.

What's in My Diaper Bag

October 11, 2018

I am so excited to share my What's in My Diaper Bag video! As a new mommy everything is a learning process. You don't know what you don't know and you don't know it. Needless to say I was a bit clueless at first about what I might need for a trip away from the house.

Being a cloth diapering family takes preparedness to another level at times. Especially with a newborn that goes through about 14 diapers a day. Which means before I can go anywhere I need to get a load of laundry going.

Cloth diapering has been interesting but I am happy we did it. If your a new Mom or a cloth diapering Mom hopefully you'll find this post helpful. Thus far here is what I've learned are must have for my diaper bag as a cloth diapering Mommy. Don't forget to take the time to create a baby registry, you need to make sure everyone knows what you want for your little one.
