I get it. Everyone needs time to totally recharge the batteries and relax. Vacations tend to be something that many of us get the advantage of enjoying once a year. The set time where we can forget about work commitments and truly enjoy the company of are closest and dearest. We get to make incredible memories, spend quality time together, and just be reminded of the beauty of the world. However, booking your vacation and getting organized is not an easy thing to do. So I wanted to share with you my top tips for getting it right. I hope it has you covered if you are planning your summer vacation this year.

Take time to really research the destination

When it comes to a vacation, often there are a few things that need to be ticked of the priority list. You may want good weather, a short plane journey maybe, good entertainment and fabulous accommodation. So research can really help you. From taking on popular tourist destinations like Mexico and researching good hotels like the Fairfield Inn Los Cabos to considering closer to home destination in different state or traveling with a bit of history and culture in mind like Europe, exploring the Eiffel Tower in Paris or the cuisine in Rome and beyond. It would all depend on what you were after and the type of vacation you and your family want. This can actually be the fun part, as you open up your mind to some of the most glorious destinations this world has to offer, and there are plenty of them.

Think carefully about your budget

However, you may have big plans for your vacation but you also need to be practical. We all know money doesn't grow on trees, if only, and so it is time to consider how much money you really want or can spend on this vacation. This may help narrow down destinations on your list and also help distinguish the type of accommodation you want or what type of vacation you want to take. Hotels can offer all inclusive packages which can help on the spending money side of things, but equally self catering options can provide you with more flexibility. Weigh up all of your options and price up every avenue to determine what is best for you and your family.

Plan and prepare in advance

Now you are all booked you can really start the planning process. From the itinerary of what you want to do when you get there to make the most of the time you do have, to preparing in terms of packing a suitcase and the clothing you wish to take. Careful planning means that there is no stressful rush on the last minute, and you can actually enjoy the lead up to your vacation instead of worrying about the little details.

Really make steps to totally switch off while you are away

Finally, take steps to ensure that you can enjoy your vacation time. Work hard to meet deadlines at work, and even consider having a social media and phone detox while you are away. It will work wonders for your mind and allow you to recharge the batteries for when you return.

I hope that these tips help you to book and plan the perfect vacation.
